* Politics:
ARBIL - The president of Iraq’s Kurdistan region, Massoud al-Barazani, has met with the Iraqiya List leader, Iyad Allawi, to discuss means of strengthening the relations between the list and the Kurdistan Alliance (KA).
BABEL - The provincial council in Babel has overruled a decision by the governor to dismiss his first deputy, the head of the council’s Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Committee said on Monday.

BAGHDAD - Six civilians have been injured in an explosive charge blast in the capital Baghdad, a local police source said on Monday.
BAGHDAD - The chief of the Iraqi press syndicate on Monday said that unknown gunmen had targeted his convoy in Baghdad, seriously wounding his driver.
BAGHDAD - A municipal council official was killed and another was injured in an armed attack in eastern Baghdad, an Iraqi police source said on Monday.
BAGHDAD - U.S. army in Iraq said that Iraqi Security Forces arrested six suspected al-Qaeda in Iraq explosives-cell members on Monday during two joint security operations conducted in central and northern Iraq pursuant to warrants issued by Iraqi judges.

BAGHDAD - The Iraqi Ministry of Finance has allocated 25 billion Iraqi dinars (ID) for the second stage of a road project linking Diwaniya to Samawa.
NINEWA - A new bridge will be constructed in Mosul city with a total cost of ID30 billion.
