Iraq Demands to Issue a Decision to Remove it From the Provisions of Chapter VII
Union: Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, the ambassadors of the five permanent members of the Security Council to rid Iraq of the provisions of Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations, according to a statement of Foreign Affairs. The statement said that Zebari gave “messages to his counterparts in the Security Council, showing the progress made by Iraq and called on their governments to support Iraq and its support for a new resolution in the Security Council.” Iraq has been under under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations, which imposed on him after the entry of troops into Kuwait in 1990, allowing the item to use force against him being a “threat to international security”, in addition to freezing large amounts of its assets in international banks to pay compensation to the victims of the invasion of Kuwait
