BAGHDAD - The head of the National Reform Movement, Ibrahim al-Jaafari, received at his office in Baghdad on Tuesday the outgoing Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, with whom he discussed forming the coming government, according to an official statement.
BAGHDAD - Spokesperson for the al-Iraqiya List ruled out holding a referendum to select the new prime minister, asserting that the Sadrist bloc has the right to hold an unofficial referendum.
BAGHDAD - Sayyid Ammar al-Hakeem chaired a meeting of the Shura (Advisory) Board of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council (SIIC).

NINEWA - A man and a woman were wounded on Wednesday in a hand grenade explosion in central Mosul, a security source said.
NINEWA - Iraqi security forces arrested ten wanted men in western Mosul on Wednesday, according to a security source.
BASRA - Police forces arrested on Wednesday 14 wanted men and six suspected gunmen in separate areas of Basra, a police source said.

BASRA - A delegation from a Canadian company held on Wednesday a meeting with officials of the Basra Investment Commission (BIC) to discuss the possibility of establishing projects in the province, a media official said.
