Allawi's "free": ensuring the future of Iraq requires compromise and the dispute with al-Maliki political, not personal

SAWA

"
Coalition leader said "Iraqi" winner of the recent parliamentary elections, Iyad Allawi, the talks on forming a new Iraqi government was "an obstacle" to the political process in post-election period in Iraq, while emphasizing that the coming period requires to make concessions to maintain the stability of the country and its future.

Allawi said in an interview with the "free" that there is no personal dispute between him and the Prime Minister's outgoing Nuri al-Maliki, stressing that the difference between a "political and based on a difference of views and programs."

He said he and Maliki had come from "different backgrounds" in terms of orientations and backgrounds and political backgrounds, emphasizing that there is no disagreement between them on a personal level.

He added that "when it became (Maliki) as prime minister, participated in the government, but we disagree on the political approach," and that without the addition of more details about the nature of these differences specifically.

He said Allawi that Iraq was "living a new phase requires to make concessions in order to preserve the country's stability and its future," stressing the need for "more of the waiver and more reassuring to the other and more confidence-building processes and modern dilemmas openly and frankly."

Allawi acknowledged that the talks on forming the next government and prime minister had become "an obstacle to the political process in post-election period."

He said, "The nature of the situation now reveal that the coalition of state law and may return with the National Coalition (for prime minister) and that means that it is the signs of unhealthy", in reference to his bloc won the recent elections and therefore should be assigned the task of forming the government.

He said that he "in the time that must be sat and recognize the election results and say if the benefit was so let's talk issues, projects and contexts are in the safety of the Iraqi situation, we have entered (instead) directly on the issue of maturity and the formation of the Ministry and the Prime Minister and President of the Republic, and This spirit began to put obstacles towards the post-election. "

On the electricity crisis and declining services in Iraq, Allawi said that the issue is greater than the responsibility of the Minister of Electricity or dismissal, pointing to the existence of what he saw as an imbalance in the performance and strategies.

"The Iraqi budget has grown significantly and is so massive, than we were in it (during his presidency to the government), which was then a-barrel oil equivalent of less than 30 dollars while the 140 and 150 dollars," in the period two years ago, reached the level ranged between 70 and 80 dollars recently.

He said Allawi, high oil prices could have been with them, "put real steps over the past four years to develop the capacity and power, but for a defect in performance and a defect in the strategies concerning the organization of services, especially the electricity," he said.

He emphasized that "the responsibility is not the responsibility of the Minister," and expressed his belief that the resignation of the Minister of Electricity Karim Wahid was "a mistake and that the acceptance of his resignation was a mistake."

He said he "must address the problem, not treating people", adding that it was "addition, as the resignation of the minister of electricity has been eradicated in seven of the leading electrical engineers in the ministry, at a time when you want to build institutions capable of providing services."

Mr Allawi served as prime minister of Iraq in the period from June 28, 2004 to 3 May 2005 and won the coalition, "Iraqi" who led parliamentary elections in Iraq, narrowly ahead of coalition rule of law led by the Prime Minister's outgoing Nuri al-Maliki, which alliance with the Iraqi National Coalition for depriving the "Iraqi" the opportunity to form a government.
