Diplomatic sources: the Security Council regarding the vote on the resolutions on Iraq next week

BAGHDAD (Iba) / follow up / ... . Diplomats said the UN Security Council are about to vote on three draft resolutions and authentication on a presidential statement on Iraq when it holds a ministerial meeting on 15 this month, headed by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the Council.

. The news agency quoted the Kuwaiti some diplomats as saying that the first draft resolution to extend immunity enjoyed by the Development Fund for Iraq, another six months despite the fact that Iraq's request for an extension for one year terms expiring in the current protection later this month.

The agency added that the diplomats noted that the draft resolution II, will close all outstanding issues about the oil for food program will come out in the draft resolution III Iraq from Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations on weapons of mass destruction.


Iraq had complained that the time has come to lift all sanctions on these files after admitting that the International Atomic Energy Agency that Iraq has provided excellent cooperation with the IAEA.


The diplomats said the presidential statement will provide a full summary of the situation on the relationship of Iraq and the United Nations. . And that Iraq will not come out of Chapter VII in relation to issues such as the Kuwait border, missing persons and property, but after the dissolution of this Algosaya first.

It is expected the diplomats to represent Iraq at the meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs or at a higher level as they expect the presence of the other ministers of the GCC States.

The U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice said in a press conference last week announcing the next ministerial meeting that it would be an important opportunity for the international community to find out the real progress made by Iraq concerning the composition of the government in addition to the important steps taken for the completion of its commitment to the Chapter VII.
