The Security Council .. Financing of the United Nations Efforts to Resolve the Issue of Missing Kuwaitis in Iraq

The UN Security Council agreed today on the recommendation of the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon to allocate the amount of / 400 251 / U.S. $ of operating reserves and balance of the amount allocated for administrative and operational costs, which represented 22 per cent of Iraq escrow account of the United Nations to finance the continuation of the activities undertaken the High-level Coordinator on missing Kuwaiti and third country nationals and Kuwaiti property lost in Iraq and support staff until the end of next June.
The President of the Council for this month, the Permanent Representative of France, Ambassador Gerard Aru an urgent letter to Ban Ki-moon said recently after receiving unanimous approval by members of the Council would, during and on behalf of all members reaffirmed their support for the important work being done by the high-level coordinator to resolve this humanitarian issue.
Calling on the Secretary-General to submit a detailed progress report to members by June 30 :affraid:showing the progress and extent of the mandate of the High-level Coordinator.
The Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has the face of last December a letter to the Security Council which indicated that he was paid the amount of / 657 / 337 dollars from the Iraq escrow account of the United Nations, during the period from 25 April and 31 October, the funding activities of the Coordinator for the high – level.
Which called on to fund an additional eight months had been the Council approved the extension of the mandate of the High-level Coordinator and his staff.
Nohn and letter of the Secretary-General to call the personal and the Security Council addressed to all parties concerned file of prisoners and missing persons in order to work to translate their statements and policies made by good faith on this matter to the practical and concrete measures aimed at accelerating the achievement of the desired progress in the coming months, which will intensify high-level Coordinator which its activities and its efforts to try to resolve all outstanding issues in this regard.
