Iraqi trade: establishment of international exhibitions in most of Iraq's provinces

Baghdad, April 10 (AKnews)- An official source at the Iraqi Trade Ministry said on Saturday that the ministry is seeking to establish international trade fairs in the entire important provinces during the coming period.
The chancellor at the ministry, Halim Anbuke , said " the next phase will witness a progress in the talks with the Ministry of Commerce and the international trade companies who are willing to invest in Iraq, 280 international companies expressed its interest in participating to boost trade in the country ".
He added "Karbala, Basra, Dhi Qar, Najaf and Anbar will witness important trade exhibitions that will contribute in reviving the Iraqi market ".
He explained "the exhibitions that will be held in the coming months have a new character and will witness the signing of important agreements and protocols between the Iraqi commercial companies and the international companies ".
He said "The Ministry of Trade is seeking to reduce the gap between the Iraqi commercial companies and the developed international companies that add to the Iraqi trade experience , speed of circulation of money and goods" Noting that "This step comes within the tireless efforts made by the Ministry to Develop the Trade in Iraq ".
He emphasized, "The Iraqi companies are still working in primitive way particularly with regard to the subject of trading between the companies and the financial mechanisms necessary for conducting the Iraqi funds".
Anbake stressed on the necessity of informing the commercial companies on the reality of the provinces in which important fairs will take place in it ".
The Iraqi Ministry of Trade has asked the Parliament council earlier in May 2007 to adopt of a law to organize governing the projects and the trade fairs under the supervision of the Commerce Ministry.
