(Voice of Iraq) – Mlkrt after meeting Sistani: Shiite cleric emphasizes the need to work for compatibility
Said Ed Mlkrt, Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in Iraq, that «there is a great concern to the Shiite authority in Najaf, the slow pace of the political process in Iraq and we share this concern», adding that the international organization considers that Iraq «must be judged with the participation of all parties in the the political process ».
This came at a press conference the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations after his meeting with Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani in Najaf yesterday for more than two hours.
The Mlkrt that during the meeting, «there was confirmed to work for consensus, and we believe that inclusive political process is the best way to move forward, and the United Nations stands ready to offer advice to all parties involved in a neutral».
